Martyn Heale, chair of UKIP South Thanet and Nigel Farage’s campaign manager, has been accused of trying to whitewash his membership of the National Front in the 1970s. The accusation has been made by Ramsgate man Robert Edwards who was in the Front at the same time as Mr Heale. Mr Heale has claimed that when he joined the Front it was “more like a social club”. Edwards refutes this and says the Front was a “well-oiled Nazi machine.” For more see the new edition of THANET WATCH magazine in newsagents across the Isle now.
