BOMBING – NOT IN MY NAME

KAREN CONSTANTINE

Like many I have thought long and hard about Syria. I don’t believe the case for bombing has been made.

I believe that ISIS ( ISIL & Daesh) is integrated into the communities and that there isn’t a  definable “frontline”, and this means that hundreds of thousands of civilian Syrians will die.

Bombing will solve nothing.

The prospect of needing troops on the ground is open ended. Air strikes alone will not solve the Syrian civil war. More needs to be done to secure a political and diplomatic solution.

The money being spent is obscene when we have plenty of other things that this money could be used to fund – health, housing & education being just a few.
This situation is ill thought out. A rush to air strikes is obscene.
Food banks or fighting? Neither are acceptable, both are avoidable.
