FERRY FAILURE IN RAMSGATE

A THANET WATCH REPORT. Thanet Green Councillor Ian Driver calls for action over the failure of ferry company Transeuropa after it went bust owing more than £3 million to Thanet District Council. Driver blames the Chief Executive and the leaders of the previous administration, and the current one, who all went on letting the debt accumulate without the public knowing for three years.

STATEMENT FROM CLIVE HART ABOUT NHS FEARS IN THANET

“As part of the recently agreed TDC Corporate Plan, our new administration has added a key priority ‘to influence the work of other agencies to ensure the best outcomes for Thanet’.

Residents should be assured we will do everything in our power to protect and wherever possible improve local services, especially in relation to health and well-being.

Overwhelmingly, statistics and local demographics confirm that our district has a very strong case to maintain our current NHS services and a fully functioning QEQM”.

CLIVE HART SPEAKS ABOUT THE AIRPORT, THE HOSPITAL AND TESCO

We filmed Thanet Council leader Clive Hart – plus charming child – on Saturday and he spoke frankly about his hopes and fears for the Isle.

Clive said his biggest fear was for the future of the QEQM hospital. He was worried that a loss of services might lead to a downgrading of the hospital, and he said the council would fight to stop this happening.

An emergency public meeting has since been called to discuss threats to Thanet’s health services including the hospital, mental services and GP practices.

The meeting will be at 7pm on Wednesday May 23rd at the Red Hall, 11 Grosvenor Road, Broadstairs CT10 2BT. All welcome.
