The summer issue of Thanet Watch magazine is calling for the closure of Southern Water for “crimes against the environment”.
Says editor Norman Thomas: “This company poses a major threat to the beaches and sea off Thanet’s coast, and so to the area’s economy. It is a serial polluter which has lied and deceived the regulators. It is doing do to maximise its profits and it cannot be trusted to change its ways, The company must be closed down and its operation taken into public control.”
