THREATENED BY UKIP?

Thanet Watch asked people in Ramsgate how they felt about comments by a UKIP MP that EU migrants might have to be deported if the UK leaves the European Union. Interviewees include UKIP’s Trevor Shonk who’s recently been accused of racism for comments he made to the BBC and criticised for allowing his name to appear on an anti-Muslim Facebook page. Mr Shonk denies being racist and claims his name was added to the page without his consent.

WHY DID WILL WALK?

THANET WATCH REPORT. On December 16th 2014 Will Scobie, Labour councillor and parliamentary candidate running against Nigel Farage staged a surprise walk out at an extraordinary meeting of Thanet District Council called to discuss the future of Manston airport, which was closed earlier this year. Scobie challenged the decision to hold the meeting and said “This is no way to run a council”. Thanet council is Labour controlled.

“YOUNG UKIP” ATTACKS PARTY HYPOCRISY

In August 2014 Aaron Knight was on the platform of a UKIP Question Time event in Thanet South, where Nigel Farage is standing for parliament. Aaron was introduced as the leader of the Young Independents, the UKIP youth section. Three months later he had left the party and said it was only a job he was being paid to do!
